Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Adjudica.AI platform and related services (the "Service") provided by Glass Box Solutions, Inc. ("Glass Box Solutions," "we," "us," or "our"). This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.

By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violation of this AUP may result in suspension or termination of your access to the Service.


1. Intended Use

1.1 Authorized Users

The Service is designed for use by:

  • Licensed attorneys in good standing
  • Authorized legal professionals working under attorney supervision
  • Law firm staff with appropriate authorization

1.2 Intended Purpose

The Service is intended for:

  • California Workers' Compensation legal practice
  • Analysis of legal and medical documents related to WC cases
  • Legal research and case services
  • PDRS calculations and disability analysis according to user instruction

2. Prohibited Conduct

2.1 Illegal Activities

You may not use the Service to:

  • Violate any federal, state, or local law rule or regulation
  • Engage in fraudulent or deceptive practices
  • Violate court orders or legal obligations
  • Facilitate money laundering or financial crimes
  • Support illegal discrimination

2.2 Professional Responsibility Violations

You may not use the Service to:

  • Engage in the unauthorized practice of law
  • Violate attorney-client privilege (except as authorized)
  • Breach confidentiality obligations
  • Violate rules of professional conduct
  • Create false or misleading legal documents
  • Submit unverified AI output as your own work product to courts

2.3 HIPAA and Privacy Violations

You may not:

  • Process PHI without an executed Business Associate Agreement
  • Upload PHI beyond what is necessary for your legal representation
  • Disclose PHI in violation of HIPAA or state privacy laws
  • Upload medical records you do not have authority to access
  • Re-identify de-identified health information

2.4 Data Handling Violations

You may not:

  • Upload content you do not have the right to use
  • Upload content that infringes intellectual property rights
  • Upload content containing malware, viruses, or malicious code
  • Upload content designed to damage or disrupt the Service
  • Attempt to extract data from other users' accounts

2.5 Security Violations

You may not:

  • Share login credentials with unauthorized persons
  • Attempt to access accounts or data belonging to others
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or decompile the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Circumvent security measures or access controls

2.6 Abuse of AI Features

You may not:

  • Use AI features to generate false legal citations
  • Use AI features to create fraudulent documents
  • Use AI features to generate content for illegal purposes
  • Attempt to manipulate AI to produce harmful outputs
  • Use AI outputs to deceive clients, courts, or other parties

2.7 AI Training and Data Extraction — Strictly Prohibited

Scraping the Service is strictly prohibited.

You may not:

  • Train AI models — Use any AI Output, responses, analyses, or data derived from the Service to train, fine-tune, improve, evaluate, or develop any artificial intelligence or machine learning model, whether your own or a third party's
  • Generate training datasets — Systematically collect, compile, scrape, or aggregate AI Output or any Service data for the purpose of creating training datasets, evaluation sets, or benchmarks for AI systems
  • Scrape or crawl — Use any automated means including bots, spiders, scrapers, crawlers, browser automation, or similar technology to access, extract, download, index, or collect data from the Service
  • Programmatic extraction — Automatically or programmatically extract data, AI Output, or any content from the Service except through documented APIs within published rate limits
  • Benchmark competitors — Use the Service to evaluate, benchmark, test, or compare competing AI products, services, or models
  • Reverse engineer AI — Attempt to discover, extract, or replicate the algorithms, models, prompts, weights, architectures, or underlying components of the Service's AI systems

2.8 Circumvention and Misrepresentation

You may not:

  • Circumvent rate limits — Circumvent, disable, or interfere with rate limits, usage quotas, concurrent session limits, or other technical restrictions
  • Circumvent safety measures — Bypass, disable, or interfere with content filters, safety systems, abuse detection, or access controls
  • Circumvent professional supervision — Bypass, disable, or manipulate attorney review workflows, supervision requirements, license verification, or document approval gates
  • Misrepresent AI Output — Represent that AI Output was created entirely by a human when submitting to courts, tribunals, opposing parties, or clients where disclosure is required
  • Falsify credentials — Create fake attorney accounts, falsify State Bar membership, or misrepresent professional licensing status
  • Impersonate — Impersonate any attorney, law firm, court official, or government entity

2.9 Export Control and Sanctions

You may not:

  • Access the Service from U.S. embargoed countries or regions
  • Use the Service in violation of export control laws
  • Provide access to the Service to persons on sanctions lists

3. PHI and Medical Records

3.1 Business Associate Agreement Required

You must have an executed Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with Glass Box Solutions before uploading any Protected Health Information to the Service.

3.2 Minimum Necessary Standard

When uploading documents containing PHI, you must:

  • Upload only the minimum information necessary for your legal analysis
  • Redact unnecessary sensitive information where practicable
  • Consider de-identification options for sensitive information
  • Not upload medical records unrelated to the workers' compensation case

3.3 Authority to Access

You represent and warrant that:

  • You have legal authority to access any PHI you upload
  • The PHI is being processed for a valid workers' compensation purpose
  • You have obtained necessary authorizations or operate under a valid exception

3.4 Prohibited Medical Information

Unless directly relevant to your workers' compensation case, do not upload:

  • HIV/AIDS status information
  • Mental health records unrelated to the work injury
  • Substance abuse treatment records (42 CFR Part 2)
  • Reproductive health information
  • Genetic information

4. Professional Use Standards

4.1 AI Output Verification

You must:

  • Verify all AI-generated citations before use
  • Confirm factual accuracy of AI outputs
  • Review AI analysis with professional judgment
  • Not submit AI outputs to courts without verification
  • Take responsibility for all work product

4.2 Client Interests

You must:

  • Use the Service in the best interests of your clients
  • Maintain appropriate client confidences
  • Consider client communication about AI use
  • Not use AI outputs in ways harmful to clients

4.3 Honest Representation

You must:

  • Accurately represent AI-assisted work when required
  • Not claim AI outputs as entirely original work when disclosure is required
  • Comply with court rules regarding AI-generated content
  • Be truthful in representations to courts and tribunals

5. Account Conduct

5.1 Account Security

You must:

  • Use strong, unique passwords
  • Enable multi-factor authentication when available
  • Keep login credentials confidential
  • Notify us immediately of suspected unauthorized access
  • Log out from shared or public devices

5.2 Account Sharing

You may not:

  • Share your individual account credentials
  • Allow unauthorized access to your account
  • Create accounts for unauthorized users

5.3 Accurate Information

You must:

  • Provide accurate registration information
  • Keep account information current
  • Respond to verification requests

6. System Integrity

6.1 Technical Restrictions

You may not:

  • Use automated tools to access the Service (except approved APIs)
  • Make excessive requests that burden the Service
  • Introduce malware or harmful code
  • Attempt to bypass rate limits or access controls
  • Copy or download substantial portions of the database

6.2 Reporting Vulnerabilities

If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it responsibly to security@adjudica.ai. Do not exploit vulnerabilities or disclose them publicly before we have addressed them.


7. Content Standards

7.1 Uploaded Content

Content you upload must:

  • Be relevant to workers' compensation legal practice
  • Be content you have the right to use
  • Comply with applicable law
  • Not contain malware or harmful code

7.2 Prohibited Content

Do not upload:

  • Content you do not have the right to access or use
  • Content that violates third-party intellectual property
  • Malicious code or files
  • Content designed to abuse or harm the Service
  • Obscene or harassing content

8. Enforcement

8.1 Monitoring

We reserve the right to monitor use of the Service to ensure compliance with this AUP. We do not routinely review the content of documents you upload but may do so when we have reason to believe a violation has occurred.

8.2 Consequences of Violation

Violations of this AUP may result in:

  • Warning or notice of violation
  • Suspension of access to the Service
  • Termination of your account
  • Legal action if appropriate
  • Reporting to relevant authorities or bar associations
  • Pursuit of civil damages for scraping, data extraction, or AI training violations

8.3 Reporting Violations

8.4 Appeals

If your access is suspended or terminated, you may appeal by contacting legal@adjudica.ai within 30 days.


9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised AUP.
